Although virtually unjuiceable, this exotic fruit is a wonderful staple for smoothies and blended drinks. As with most fruits the riper the banana the richer the flavour meaning that they're especially good in a drink when they have passed their best for eating. They're also fantastic as a non-dairy icecream. Bananas are good sources of energy and are rich in minerals, vitamins and full of fibre and complex carbohydrates. They combine well with most fruits, although not so well with vegetables. They can help regulate blood pressure, promote cellular growth, and can also help with cancer, rheumatoid arthritis and heart disease. They also have anti-aging properties and are moisturising, helping with acne and hair loss.
